Make yourself at home.
A practical guide to creating, editing, and sharing your website.
Find your starting point
Browse 20 templates, preview a design, and create your own editable copy.
Shape your story
Open a site, select a block, and edit its content and design in the inspector.
Share it with the world
Publish a snapshot when you’re ready. Your next edits stay in draft until you publish again.
Your first website, step by step.
1. Choose a template and name your website
Open Templates, use Preview to explore desktop and mobile layouts, then choose Use template. Enter your brand name and open the editor. A new site starts as a private draft.
2. Add your own content
Click anything on the canvas, or select it in Layers. Use the Content panel to update text, images, and links. Replace the example email address and all sample project descriptions before publishing. Use HTTPS image URLs for your own work.
3. Arrange your page
Use Insert to add a heading, image, button, or ready-made section. Select a container to insert inside it. Drag blocks in Layers to reorder; use the parent selector to nest them. Undo and redo are available in the toolbar.
4. Fine-tune your visual style
The Design tab controls colors, spacing, size, typography, and alignment. Desktop, tablet, and mobile controls change the actual canvas viewport, so you can check wrapping and responsive layout.
5. Save and publish
Your changes save automatically after a short pause. Check the save status before leaving. Open Site settings to set your page title, description, and address. Publish creates a public snapshot; future edits stay private until published again.
6. Export or take a site offline
Download HTML from the editor to keep a portable copy. Unpublish in Site settings to remove the public version without deleting your draft. Deleting a site from the workspace removes both versions.
Connect forms, bookings, and payments
Buttons can link to booking pages, payment links, email addresses, or sections on your page. A form needs your own HTTPS submission endpoint before it can accept messages. Creator-site newsletter delivery and commerce are not built in. Manage your Vale plan and subscription from Billing.
Keyboard shortcuts
Use Cmd/Ctrl+S to save, Cmd/Ctrl+Z to undo, Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+Z to redo, and Escape to deselect. Delete removes a selected block when you’re not typing in a field.
If saving reports a conflict
Another tab has saved a newer version. Export your current work before reloading. Vale blocks the conflicting save so one tab cannot silently overwrite another.
